Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
Brumbr ("we", "our", or "us") is a location-based social app that helps people connect with others nearby. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. By using Brumbr, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who We Are
Brumbr is operated by Lachezar Ivanov, based in Bulgaria. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at brumbr.app@gmail.com.
2. Data We Collect
Account & Identity
- Name (display name you choose)
- Email address (from Apple Sign In or Google Sign In)

- Precise location - used to show you on the map and connect you with nearby people. Location is fuzzed before being shared with other users - your exact position is never revealed.
- Coarse location - used for product personalization (e.g. locality settings).
Purchases
- Purchase history - credits and subscriptions bought through the app. Processed via Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat.
Usage Data
- Product interaction - how you use the app (features opened, waves sent, sessions). Used for analytics and improving the product. Collected via Mixpanel.
Diagnostics
- Crash data - anonymous crash reports to help us fix bugs. Not linked to your identity.
3. How We Use Your Data
- App functionality - to authenticate you, show your profile, enable location features, and power the chat.
- Product personalization - to show relevant nearby people based on your location and profile.
- Analytics - to understand how the app is used and improve it.
- Marketing - your email may be used to send you important product updates. You can opt out at any time.
- Security - to detect abuse and keep the platform safe.
4. Location Privacy
Brumbr is a location-based app. Your location is used to show you on the map and help others find people nearby. We take several steps to protect your location privacy:
- Your precise coordinates are never shared with other users. We share only a fuzzed/approximate position.
- You can turn off your location at any time by setting your status to "Off" in the app.
- Location data is not sold to third parties.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following trusted service providers, strictly to operate the app:
- Firebase (Google) - authentication and push notifications
- Supabase / PostgreSQL - database hosting
- Cloudflare R2 - media file storage
- RevenueCat - subscription and purchase management
- Mixpanel - analytics (only if you give consent)
- Railway - backend hosting
- Expo / Apple - push notification delivery
6. Analytics Consent
We ask for your explicit consent before collecting analytics data via Mixpanel. You can change your analytics preference at any time in the app settings.
7. Data Retention
- Your account data is retained while your account is active.
- If you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days.
- Chat messages are stored for the duration of the chat session (24 hours by default, unless preserved by mutual consent).
- Crash logs are retained for 90 days.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access - request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction - request that we correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion - request that we delete your account and personal data.
- Portability - request your data in a portable format.
- Opt-out - opt out of analytics or marketing emails at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at brumbr.app@gmail.com.
9. Children's Privacy
Brumbr is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed identifiers, and access controls. Your Firebase UID is never stored or exposed - we use a one-way hash for internal identification. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your data.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
